LIGHTING THAT SUPPORTS PEOPLE, SAFETY AND INDUSTRIAL PERFORMANCE
"Working on a multi-zone industrial facility like this, you need a lighting partner who gets the complexity from day one. Amphis didn't just tick boxes, they understood how each area would actually be used and designed accordingly. They understood the industrial environment, delivered exactly what they promised, and the whole process was hassle-free. The emergency lighting system alone exceeded every standard we needed to meet."
— Manuel Benjamin, Design & Construct – Project Manager, Tigris Constructions
Pipemakers Australia's new purpose-built warehouse facility in St Marys, NSW represents a significant investment in their manufacturing capabilities. Designed and constructed by Tigris Constructions, this state-of-the-art facility demanded a comprehensive lighting solution across five distinct operational zones: staff and visitor car parking, external hardstand areas for loading and unloading, warehouse and manufacturing spaces, office and amenities areas, and comprehensive emergency lighting throughout.
Client Objectives
Working closely with Tigris, Amphis addressed several critical requirements:
- Ensure external areas met stringent AS/NZS 4282 standards, which sets out requirements for the control of the obtrusive effects and light pollution from outdoor lighting.
- Deliver high-efficiency internal lighting with superior colour quality for precision manufacturing work.
- Create safe and comfortable working environments that comply with Australian standards across office and amenity spaces.
- Integrate emergency lighting systems that exceed regulatory requirements throughout the entire facility.
Amphis’s Solution
To meet these various demands, Amphis engineered a comprehensive lighting plan tailored to each zone:
- Amphis White Knight area lights and LSI Industries canopy lights: Strategically positioned fixtures designed to meet AS/NZS 4282 compliance, respecting low light spill requirements and ensuring optimal visibility for loading operations without light pollution.
- Tua LED high bay lights: High-efficiency luminaires with >CRI90 colour rendering, providing exceptional light quality essential for precision manufacturing processes.
- Sabron decorative wall lamps, Timbre downlights and a range of panel lights: A selection of fixtures for office areas to create comfortable working environments while adding an element of style.
- Emergency and exit lighting: Standards-compliant systems designed to provide comprehensive safety coverage with clear signage.
- Integrated lighting controls: Native control systems built into each luminaire, enabling intelligent operation and energy management.
Implementation
Amphis's collaboration with Tigris Constructions for Pipemakers Australia demonstrates our expertise in diverse industrial lighting projects. Through intelligent design and strategic fixture selection, we minimised the total number of fittings required, delivering significant cost savings while exceeding the original design brief. The integration of occupancy sensors across the facility ensures reduced power consumption and extends the lighting system's operational lifespan, providing ongoing value through lower running costs and enhanced sustainability.
